Should I photograph my furniture before the movers arrive? — Yes — always. A 30-second walkthrough video on your phone, plus close-up photos of any pre-existing scratches, dents, or wear on high-value pieces, is the single best protection you have if you ever need to file a damage claim. Time-stamped phone media is accepted by every reputable mover and by insurance carriers. Bears Moving Co. also walks the home with you at pickup and notes existing condition on the inventory sheet — but your own photos are still smart, and we recommend them.
How do movers protect hardwood floors and door frames? — A professional Atlanta crew arrives with floor runners (neoprene or carpet runners for hardwoods, ram board for hard runs), door-jamb pads, banister covers, and corner protectors. These go down before any furniture moves. For tight stairwells, we add wall padding. If you have unusually delicate flooring (newly refinished hardwood, polished concrete, original heart pine), tell us at quote time and we'll bring extra protection. The mark of a real mover is that you can't tell we were there once the truck pulls away.
