Piano Movers
Bears Moving Co. is a licensed piano moving company (GA HHG #9320) that moves standard upright and spinet pianos — consoles, studio uprights, full-size and antique uprights, player pianos, and digital pianos. We do not move baby grand or grand pianos. Every instrument gets double-blanket wrapping, a four-wheel piano dolly, full floor protection, and cargo and liability insurance — at one transparent hourly rate with a true 2-hour minimum, and no per-stair or elevator fees.
Most moving companies will tell you they move pianos. What they usually mean is they will roll one onto a truck and hope. A piano that gets dropped, scraped, or twisted at the wrong angle can lose its tuning, crack a soundboard, or end up structurally totaled — and the average upright weighs 400 to 800 pounds, with tall antique uprights and player pianos pushing past 900.
Bears Moving Co. treats pianos as a scoped specialty job. Before we book, we ask for the instrument type, its age, the destination address, every doorway it has to pass through, every stair-rise involved, and the parking at both ends. That conversation drives crew size, dolly type, and equipment — it is not improvised on move day.
Spinets, consoles, studio uprights, and full-size uprights ride upright on a four-wheel piano dolly, wrapped in double-thickness blankets with corner protection and strap control on every incline and stair flight. Player pianos, antique uprights, and digital pianos are all in scope too.
