Residential Movers
Bears Moving Co. is a licensed residential moving company handling whole-home relocations — studios through five-bedroom houses, apartments, townhomes, condos, and everything in the garage, basement, and attic. One transparent hourly rate covers the crew, the truck, fuel and drive time, blankets, shrink wrap, dollies, floor runners, door-jamb protection, and basic bed, table, and TV disassembly and reassembly.
Licensed GA HHG #9320, BBB A+ accredited, and fully insured, with no per-stair fees, no fuel surcharge, and no surprise add-ons at the end.
A residential move is the whole household, not a truckload: every bedroom, the living and dining rooms, the kitchen, the home office, closets, the garage, the basement, the attic, and the patio. We scope by room count and specialty items rather than guessing at box counts, then size the crew and truck to finish in one day wherever possible.
Included in the hourly rate: a professional crew, a fully equipped truck with fuel and drive time, furniture pads and blankets, shrink wrap, floor runners, door-jamb protectors, four-wheel dollies, hand trucks, moving straps, basic bed and desk disassembly and reassembly, standard TV dismount, and full cargo and liability insurance.
Studios and one-bedrooms typically run 2–4 hours with a 2-mover crew. Two-bedroom homes run 3–6 hours with a 2- or 3-mover crew. Three-bedroom homes run 4–8 hours with a 3-mover crew, and four bedrooms or more run 8–10+ hours with a 3- or 4-mover crew.
What actually moves those numbers: whether the boxes are packed and sealed before we arrive, how many flights of stairs sit between the door and the truck, how far the truck has to park from the entry, and how many specialty items — safes, uprights, treadmills, stone tables — need dedicated handling.
Most families pack their own boxes and hand us the furniture. If you'd rather not touch a carton, full and partial packing is available with professional boxes, paper, dish barrels, and wardrobe boxes — kitchens and fragile dish-pack are the two rooms customers hand off most.
On the other end we don't stop at the door. Furniture goes where you point, beds and tables are reassembled, boxes are placed in the rooms they're labeled for, and the wrap and blankets leave with us. Beds are always put back together before the crew clocks out.
One transparent hourly rate, quoted in writing before you book. No per-stair or per-flight charges, no elevator fee, no fuel surcharge, no charge for pads, wrap, dollies, or floor protection, no long-carry fee, and no travel padding on top of drive time. Time starts when the truck arrives and stops when the last item is placed.
Deposits are refundable, and the estimate you get is the rate you pay. If the job runs shorter than quoted, you pay for the time used — we bill in real increments, not rounded-up half days.
Bears Moving Co. is a Georgia-licensed household goods carrier (GA HHG #9320), BBB A+ accredited, and rated 5.0 on Google. Crews are employed, background-checked, uniformed, and trained on our equipment — not day labor assembled the morning of your move.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as a residential move?
Any household relocation — a studio apartment, a townhome, a condo, or a five-bedroom house, including the garage, basement, attic, and patio. Single-item and furniture-only jobs are a separate service.
How much do residential movers cost?
Household moves bill at one transparent hourly rate that includes the crew, truck, fuel and drive time, pads, wrap, dollies, floor protection, and basic disassembly and reassembly. There are no per-stair, elevator, or fuel surcharges.
How long will my house move take?
Studios and one-bedrooms typically run 2–4 hours, two-bedrooms 3–6 hours, three-bedrooms 4–8 hours, and four-plus bedrooms 8–10+ hours. Packing status, stairs, and carry distance are the biggest variables.
Do you provide packing services?
Yes — full or partial packing with professional cartons, paper, dish barrels, and wardrobe boxes. Most customers pack their own boxes and let us handle furniture, disassembly, and setup.
Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?
Basic disassembly and reassembly is included: bed frames, table legs, sectional feet, desks, and standard TV dismounts. Complex built-ins and wall-mounted units are quoted separately.
Do you charge extra for stairs, elevators, or a long carry?
No. The hourly rate covers the work regardless of access, including walk-ups, freight-elevator buildings, and homes where the truck can't park at the door.
How far in advance should I book?
Two to four weeks is comfortable; month-end dates and summer weekends fill first. Same-week and last-minute household moves are often available — call and we'll tell you honestly what's open.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — GA HHG Mover #9320, BBB A+ accredited, with full cargo and liability insurance on every move and building Certificates of Insurance issued within 24 hours of booking.
