Move-Day Experience FAQs — Atlanta Movers
Move day questions tend to come up the night before — here are the ones we hear most.
Do I need to be present the entire time movers are at my home? — You don't have to be there for every minute, but someone authorized should be on-site at the start (to walk through the home with the crew lead and sign the bill of lading) and at the end (to do a final walkthrough and approve payment). For the middle of the move, many customers run errands, pick up keys, or pick up kids — that's fine. If you can't be there at all, you can designate a trusted adult in writing. We won't load or unload an empty house without an authorized representative.
Can I ask movers to rearrange furniture in the new home after unloading? — Yes — and we expect it. Most customers don't know exactly where the couch goes until they see it in the room. The crew will place every large item in the room you indicate at unload, and we'll move it once more (sometimes twice) to get the layout right while we're still on the clock. The only thing we ask is that you make the rearrangement call before we pull the floor runners and pack the truck — once we're packed up to leave, coming back for a rearrange becomes a separate trip.
