In Atlanta, peak moving season runs from late May through August, with a secondary spike around the first of each month year-round. During peak summer, reputable movers can be booked solid four to eight weeks out — sometimes more. If you are planning a summer move, a six-week minimum lead time is a reasonable target, and eight weeks is even better for end-of-month dates or holiday weekends.
The slower months — November through February — generally offer more availability. You can often book two to three weeks out and still get your preferred date and crew.
